Last post of the year

I know it’s been a while since I posted. The past couple weeks have just flown by. It started back on the 19th . Hunter threw up in the middle of the night… twice. That same day we got 12 inches of snow, on the way home I got stuck in the driveway.

a foot of snow

I had to walk up the 350 foot driveway carrying Hunter … through 12 inches of snow. Once home and napping, Hunter got sick again. It was the beginning of a 5 day stomach bug which consisted of puking, not eating and diarrhea. He finally started feeling better on Christmas Eve.

In between bouts of puke and sleep, he felt pretty good… good enough to play outside in all the snow… for a minute or two.

Playing in the snow

By then I was in full on stomach flu. I never threw up, but I also didn’t eat for days and had absolutely no energy. Not such a good thing for the Christmas holiday season. I literally survived on Vernors and naps.

Here are a couple of shots from Christmas Eve and Christmas:

My favorite Christmas present was not one I received, but one we gave… one I made. This is a deer shot I took over the summer and framed for Kev’s Dad. I’m thrilled at how well it turned out. I think he liked it too.

And finally, Dad’s Christmas present. I think he liked it.
Merry Christmas Dad

I’m hopeful I can catch up on everyone’s Christmas… I’ve missed you all.

I wish everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year full of love and happiness.
See you next year.

Thank you Chad. I love that you have organized this little habit of mine. Chad, I also wish you well. I am so glad that you are cancer free. I hope 2009 brings you everything you wish for, including that new job - it’s you!!

Dinner conversation

“Mom”

“Yes Hunter”

“I tooted” giggling

“You did?” giggling “Dad, Hunter tooted.”

Now we are both giggling.

“Go potty?”

“You have to go potty?”

“Yea”

So I took Hunter down to the potty, in the middle of dinner. I gave him his book and he sat there for a few minutes. Then I heard it….

“Hunter? Did you go potty?”

“Mom! Look!” excitedly

Hunter went poop on the potty tonight for the first time. He actually told us he had to go and he did. We tried the potty training thing with Hunter back in September, but we stopped because it was pretty obvious he wasn’t getting the concept. We stopped using pull-ups and figured he would let us know when he was ready again. Perhaps it’s time to start with pull-ups again.

Because I know you love a visual:

Greeblepix - December edition

Life has been crazy busy, but I still wanted to participate in this month’s Greeblepix contest. Make sure you go over to Aimee’s site and check out all the entries.

It’s late, so without further ado here is my pic. This is one of the pics from the photo shoot I did for my buddy’s band. This is one of my favorites.

December 12 of 12

December 12 of 12

I’m just going to apologize for this 12 of 12 in advance. Work has been crazy busy and I honestly can’t even believe that I remembered the 12 of 12.

The whole 12 of 12 concept is Chad Darnell’s. If you click over to his site you can look through many more 12 of 12 participants pictures… it’s pretty cool. It’s also fun, if you don’t participate… you should.

6:43 am - I’m pretty sure the daycare has given Hunter juice before so now he asks for it. Normally he only drinks water or milk, but lately he has been asking for juice… that’s why I think they have given it to him. Otherwise, how would he know what it is… anyway… Today he had juice after breakfast.

6:43 am - “more juice?”… of course. Oh yea, that’s his favorite glass.
Monkey cup

Insert super crazy work day here…

5:43 pm - I come home to a pop tart wrapper on the floor. I’m sure Tyler enjoyed his afternoon snack… ass.
How Tyler eats a poptart.

6:08 pm - I apparently had a very small window to shoot the large full moon tonight. Luckily, I was able to catch it. Not the greatest pic but I was trying to be quick, the clouds were moving in and it was FREEZING outside.
Full moon - large

6:22 pm - the makings of dinner… except Hubby took the can opener to work for a potluck, and he is bowling… this should be challenging - damn full moon.
Dinner...

7:04 pm - Grandma hugs are the best.

7:05 pm - playing with a “growing Santa”… you put it in water and it grows 600% bigger.

7:05 pm - Perspective

7:27 pm - now we read…
Reading a book

8:00 pm - guess what we are watching?

8:03 pm - position in life is everything…

8:07 pm - the boy has ants in his pants, I tell ya….

A is for Angels

decending on Christmas Day.

Hunter was in his first Christmas Program. The K-2 and K-3’s performed together. The program was too cute. One of the kids wouldn’t go on stage; one wouldn’t say anything when he got to the microphone… but not Hunter the Ham. He did so well and I was so proud. *sniff*

He had to say “A is for Angels descending on Christmas Day”. It came out as “A is Angels…. Christmas Day” and it was kind of in his monster voice… but it was still too cute. Then they sang Happy Birthday to Jesus holding a cupcake… a fake cup cake for obvious reasons. And at the end all the kids came back up and sang We wish you a Merry Christmas.

If I can figure out how to attach a video… I will.

I have been playing with some PS actions from MCP Actions. Bad-ass!! I’ll post something when I get a chance.

Here’s the deal

I can’t tell you how hilarious it is when a two year old starts his sentences with:
“Here’s the deal.”

We just rolled.

On the job front… it’s crazy busy. I had my first after hours meeting yesterday. And even though the day was 11 hours long, it seemed to fly by.

It’s way tough trying to do two gigs… but hopefully there will be some resolution in the next couple of weeks… at least that is what I was told.

Sometimes my head just swirls with thoughts… ugh.

There’s no denying he’s my son now…

Uncle Brian: “Hey Hunter, how do you say one in Spanish?”

Hunter: “One in Spanish.”

…then he walked away.
