Economic questions wrapped in a WTF

Soapbox warning.

I have a few quesions about the state of the economy…

By day, I am an accountant. So typically I can understand things like: banking, the economy, etc. But lately they* have been saying things I just can’t seem to wrap my head around. So I am going to make a little list here and if you, oh wise readers, can enlighten me, that would be grand!

They* keep saying they** are using “American Taxpayers money”… I’m an “American Taxpayer” and I don’t recall giving anyone any money. (ok this was more of a statement then a question)

Our government officials keep talking about how the AIG bonuses are not right and that money should go back to the “American Taxpayers” (ATP). Does this mean I will be getting some money soon?

Our government officials** also keep saying they** want to know WHEN we (ATP) will be paid back the money they** gave to them***. Now, I do not recall, ever in my life… all 45 years of it, getting a loan from someone where it was not spelled out, very specifically, with charts, graphs, arrows and signatures, when I was going to pay that money back. Not to mention the hell to pay, if I didn’t. (crap, this wasn’t a question either)

So perhaps my questions / statements can be summarized as follows:
How could they** give away my money, without my permission and without finding out when I was going to get it back?

WTF? <- this IS a question.

Am I the only one lost here?

Oh… I do have one more question:
I have a Bachelor’s in Accounting, a Master’s in Management (which I got with a 3.9GPA while working full time) and just a shit-load of experience. I’m a very dedicated, hard-working individual that takes my career very seriously. Where in the world can I apply for a job that pays bonus of over a million dollars (it doesn't even have to be $6.6 million)?

I don’t think they post those on Monster. (I know, not a question)

* - CNN and other news outlets (yea, I know, I shouldn’t be watching this crap.)

** - Government officials (Senators, Congressmen & Congresswomen, etc)

*** - TARP fund recipients. The list is HERE WARNING: don’t click if you get sick easily or if you have arthritis in your index finger – seriously, scrolling down the page will make your finger cramp.

I guess this can be filed under WTF Wednesday (shout out to my bud Rhonda – you know I love you, right?)

Greeblepix - March

This month’s “theme” is lucky, as in photos you got by accident. Of course you don’t have to abide by the theme, but since I have one that does, that’s what I’m going with.

I thought I had posted this pic before, but a quick look back and I don’t see it. It’s from Halloween (obviously) and right after D put on his mask… the look on Hunter’s face was a lucky catch… and priceless. Enjoy.

Priceless

March 12 of 12

aka The Hunter Show.

Yea, yea… I know it’s late, but I did take the pics on the 12th. I wasn’t going to do the 12 of 12 this month… the day just started out on a bad, bad note. I was pretty sure it was going to be a shit day.

But the sun was shining so brightly, I decided to do my 12 of 12 when I got home from work. When I got home from work I decided to see if I could get 12 pics snapped. I was able to get most when I let the dogs out after work and walked around the yard with Hunter and the dogs. So I have a theme of Hunter and Spring, all taken in a one hour time period. I also took everything with my 70-200 2.8f… theme-age everywhere.

This is Chad’s brainchild… you really should go check it out, if you haven’t already.

Here’s my day… after work:

5:41 PM - Missy is old, but don’t let her age fool you. This 13 year old lab still has spunk.
"I'm outside!!"

5:43 PM- Hunter trying to get on the deck that surrounds the pool.
Keeping out

5:44 PM - Some flowers are trying to peek thru’. (Hyacinth)
Spring is trying

5:45 PM - My poor Wisteria tree… still sleeping off winter’s cold.
Wisteria still sleeps

5:46 PM - The Twisted Weeping Cherry still sleeps also.
Weeping twisted cherry

5:47 PM - While I walk the yard, Hunter plays on his little swing and slide set - up and down… 900 times.
Sliding into spring

5:47 PM - Now we have to swing.
Playin' on the swingset

5:49 PM - Tyler trying to get me to throw the ball (how many of these pics have you seen - are you getting that he ALWAYS does this?) lol
"Throw the ball, Mom"

5:50 PM - It is so hard to get Hunter to stop for a second, let alone look at me. I do like the ½ face shadow on this one tho’.
Sunny face

6:17 PM - Inside now, I love this big fat smile!
Happy

6:18 PM - Hunter playing in his tent with the blinds casting a cool shadow.
Shady boy

6:39 PM - These are my new favorite shots of Hunter.
Deep in thought

Hope you enjoyed. Hopefully next month won’t be so crappy.

Cheers,

I often wonder what goes on in that little brain. Here, he is (obviously)staring very intently at the TV. Veggie-Tales are on and even tho’ I am only inches from his face, he doesn’t seem to even notice me.

Well on his way to being a man.

Lol

Whatever it takes…
Potty training hasn’t been going the best with Hunter, but I don’t want to push him. We have had a couple of poops in the potty, but they have mostly been because we notice the signs (hiding and squatting) and rush him to the potty.

So I am open to many ideas. Last week I saw Meghan’s post about Xan and thought I would try the tent thing… in theory, it sounds good. But a weekend of playing in the tents and there was no potty activity.

Today, my Mom and I were talking and she said her friend recommended taking his pants off. Kids don’t like the feeling of pee running down their leg, so they start going in the potty… again… in theory it sounds good.

So I took Hunter’s pants and diaper off after I got off the phone with Mom. In a few minutes he went into his tent. He has gone in there several times so I wasn’t really thinking any thing about it; especially since he had a cookie with him.

A couple of minutes later he came out and said “Mom… it’s dirty.” Low and behold he pooped in his potty… in his tent. Yea!

Now I realize this could again just be a fluke… but Hunter got ice cream anyway.

Thanks for the ideas….
