Dude… I’m in love

…with another woman’s man.

Sorry Meghan, but I have to admit my love and adoration for your man. He helped me… oh hell… no help about it… he fixed my computer for me tonight and I am eternally grateful.

It’s beyond cool to have such smart friends. I love you guys!!!

Until tomorrow…

ok

Pinnacle is working, but CS4 is gone. I have to reinstall that now. It’s a good thing I love computers so much or I would really be sick of being on this damn thing.

Oh how I miss the days of just being able to turn it on and not have an error message or having to reinstall something. At least is did motivate me to make sure all my photos and videos were backed up again.

Until tomorrow…

If you don’t see me for a couple of days…

You will know that my Windows 7 upgrade didn’t go well. Something so simple can be so damn complicated.

I know for sure my Pinnacle 14 software isn’t working…. and I just bought that too!! Damn.

I’ll let you know how it goes and what I think…. if I can ever get back online. lol

Until tomorrow (or post upgrade)…

You know you’re a Mom when…

…it’s Friday night and you are all sitting around the TV watching Phineas and Ferb.

Pear-eee

Yes Mom, I am passing on my love of cartoons to my son (my Hubby already had it).

Until tomorrow…

Friday comes early… again

Tomorrow is another furlough day at work. It means I don’t have to work and they don’t pay me. Funny, even tho’ the paycut sucks, the day off is very much anticipated. LOL

Well I’m really so far behind I may have to go in anyway, but they still won’t pay me. But that won’t really stop me; I hate being so far behind.

The other funny thing is I have been said this last week, but didn’t go in. Well I did go in for a minute, but I didn’t stay.

I wish I knew why the brain I go to bed with isn’t the same brain I wake up with. For example, I will go to bed thinking “yep, it’s best if I go into work tomorrow and I will get this, this and this done.” Then in the morning once I get up and get moving my internal speech switches to “I don’t want to go”… and I usually end up not going or planning on going another day (I don’t go then either). LOL

I’ll let you know how this works out… in the mean time, TGIT.

Until tomorrow…

Bowling night

The best part of bowling night tonight was being away from the negativity that is work right now.

Not the brightest day…

…in Pontiac’s history.

Today a no-reserve auction was finalized that sold the Pontiac Silverdome for just under $600,000. A building that cost over $55 million to build.

Details.

Not only was the Pontiac Silverdome the home of various cool events and the Detroit Lions, it was my place of employment for over 13 years.

The worst part is all the arm-chair quarterbacking going on now… apparently everyone knows a better way to have handled the situation. The building was costing the city about a million dollars a year in up-keep; that now becomes someone else’s problem. The building isn’t on the city’s tax rolls and was not generating any property tax; that too is about to change. And yet, everyone has an opinion of how it should have been done differently.

City officials have had (at the very least) since 2005 to remedy this situation some other way and that hasn’t happened. It’s been on the market since about 2002; it hasn’t sold. So now people are in an uproar… a big ole giant negative uproar.

Here’s a couple of reminders for folks who are biotchin…

- December 2005 - Resolution taken to city council to begin negotiating a development agreement after proposals were received, reviewed and developer selected. “Resolution not adopted”. At the time I believe the amount offered was close to $20 million dollars.

- Promoter withdrew proposal (originally submitted in 2002) {gee, I wonder why **cough**pussyfootinaround**cough**.}

- 65,000 residents; less than 4,000 voted in the mayoral election just this month.

- Yes, the building cost over $55 million to build and you have now sold it for just under $600,000. You keep bringing that up. You must have forgotten the $24 million dollars the Lions paid to get out of their contract in 2001 or the $12 million you had in the bank at the time. Your elected officials pissed away all $36 million of that money. And that doesn’t include the annual subsidies the Silverdome paid to the city.

Oh what short memories we have.

Please Pontiac, what is really needed right now are some positive vibes. The negativity, bitching, complaining hasn’t gotten you anywhere yet, how about trying something new.

Sorry for the dark post… I have a heavy heart tonight.

Until tomorrow…

Captain’s log…

My husband is too funny. I’m sitting here on my laptop and he walk in and says “writting in your captain’s log”…nice title I thought.

I went and shot some pics of my friend’s band last night. I haven’t been through them all, but here are a couple of shots to give you an idea. I like the way they turned out.

Beautiful day

It was a beautiful day today. So much so, I couldn’t get Hunter down for his nap. So we decided to go to the store… but he feel asleep in the car - great… so I head back home.

I carry him into the house and he wakes up….
“Mom? I thought we were going to the store.”

So I explain that he feel asleep, but he wants to go to the store anyway… I’m not playing this game.

So he is still up.

I’m going to see my friend’s band tonight; it will probably be a late night for me. And an early morning for me in the morning. Hunter doesn’t sleep much past 6:30 any more, especially when Hunter hasn’t had a nap, he will be up early tomorrow… so will I.

Until tomorrow…
